5 The type of cancer that often affects women
Cancer is one of the most dreaded diseases. In women, there are five types of cancer most commonly occurs. However, there are actually a lot we can do to prevent, or at least reduce the risk of onset of illness of cancer.
Here are five types of cancer most common among women, and let's move that can be done to prevent it.
1. Colon cancer
The risk of colon cancer in men and women are equal, according to the American Cancer Society. "The good news is that it can be prevented," said David Greenwald, MD, director of clinical gastroenterology and endoscopy at Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
Protect yourself: Make a regular screening. Standard inspection this time is colonoscopy, starting at age 50 and repeated every 10 years.
"Colonoscopy is not only diagnose colon cancer, it also allows doctors to detect and remove polyps before they develop into cancer," said Greenwald.
2. Thyroid Cancer

3: Endometrial Cancer

4: Lung cancer
Cases of lung cancer among women increased by 98% over the last four decades, according to the American Lung Association. Yag even more surprisingly, more than half of the cases happen to a woman nonsmokers.
Protect yourself: Do not smoke and stay away from secondhand smoke because it may increase the risk of cancer by 30%.

Protect yourself by: Doing regular mammograms. The American Cancer Society recommends that women perform this test every year starting at age 45. In addition, maintain a healthy lifestyle and weight.

Obesity is a condition that can increase the risk of heart disease and diabetes. In a recent study, obesity was also bad for the brain.
Researchers from the University of Cambridge found that obesity makes brain age is 10 years older than the brains of people who have the ideal body weight.
This research was conducted by scanning 473 20-87 year old human brain. In an obese person or a body mass index above 25, the structure of the brain looks much older or the same as the older structure.
